And ahead of the last-ever Saturday Night Takeaway, Lisa liked a post from one of her TV friends calling Ant and Dec “just the best”.

The post read: “After 20 years, this amazing show is coming to an end, but I’m so happy and happy to have been there from the beginning. In my 30-year career in showbiz, I’ve met some amazing people. I’ve worked with a lot of people and these two are amazing.” It’s simply the best! Great friendships and memories were made. ”

Ant and Dec admitted they “never dreamed” the show would become such a hit and last for 20 years.

Ant told viewers: “It’s been an honor and a privilege to create this show and appear on Saturday nights for 22 years.”

“So what happened was honestly beyond our wildest dreams. We truly adored every moment of making this show.”

With tears in his eyes, Dec said: “But there’s one thing we’ve never forgotten when making this show, and that’s the fact that this isn’t our show, it’s your show. So we owe you a huge debt of gratitude.” I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful audience. ”

Pal Ant then came to his rescue, put a hand on his shoulder, and introduced a montage of the show’s most memorable moments.

The hosts were then joined on stage by McFly’s Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, who sang a specially rewritten version of the band’s hit song “All About You.”

Domestic viewers were similarly moved by their emotions, with one person writing on X/Twitter: “And the people are crying!!!”
