Ralph, who played detective Neville Parker on the crime drama for four years, stepped down from the role last month, leaving fans devastated.

But now the race is on to choose his successor.

The BBC is yet to reveal his replacement, but names such as David Tennant and Martin Clunes have been rumored.

Meanwhile, Peter told reporters whether he was interested in making an acquisition.

The actor said, “Yeah, I don’t know. I remember talking to Ben Miller who felt the schedule for Death in Paradise was a little unforgiving.”

“I’m always up for a challenge, so I’m not going to rule out that possibility, but I think there’s a possibility of moving to a younger player.”

When asked if Ralph knew his replacement, Ralph replied: “Honestly, I don’t know and they didn’t tell me. Maybe they didn’t know anything yet.

“But the rest of us just like to sit back and ask, ‘Who’s next?'” Who knows, but we’ll see what happens. ”

Peter starred as the love interest of Barbara’s character Anne in the Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise, co-starring Kris Marshall and Barbara Flynn.

But on Friday, when Anne found out he had a wife, he immediately left home.

A book official says the new detective in “Death in Paradise” has been “revealed” after Ralph Little leaves the role.

Will his character be revived?

Peter said: “Sadly it’s not up to me, but Barbara and I were talking about how to bring me back into the series. One of the last things he says to her is ‘Let me explain.’ I think so,” he said.

“I said, ‘Yes, give me a chance to explain, come on, let me back in to explain what’s going on,’ which he takes advantage of in a big way.

“He’s pitching this story to you to find out that you’re going to have a nice dinner with Barbara and go on a date and maybe have other women as well.

“What his intentions are beyond that, it’s certainly not clear. It doesn’t seem like he’s trying to swindle money out of them. Or something like that. So maybe he has , I think he needs a chance to explain what he meant.”

Beyond Paradise airs on Fridays at 9pm on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
