Rask.ai appeared before the judges dressed as characters from Hugh Jackman’s hit musical The Greatest Showman.

The four singers each placed a camera in front of their faces and projected images onto a large screen behind them.

It wasn’t all as it seemed, but judges Simon, Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were shocked to see themselves staring back at them.

A year after a virtual cat called Noodle wowed viewers, the ingenious deepfake technology has made headlines at the Palladium.

But some recognized technology that came from elsewhere.

One person wrote to X: “This was literally on America’s Got Talent.”

Another said: “Wasn’t this the exact same act on America’s Got Talent??”

A third said: “This was on America’s Got Talent two years ago.”

Although Rask wasn’t the one to perform at AGT, Simon witnessed a similar performance from semi-finalist Metaphysic.

One of their memorable performances was when singer Daniel belted out a rapturous “You’re The Inspiration” while a technician mocked him as Simon.

There was another familiar face later on tonight’s show.

Lucy Heath, who finished seventh in 2016 with her dog Trip Hazard, is back with the other dogs.
