This means that the show has been renewed for another season.

The iconic reality TV show sees amateur chefs from around the UK compete for cash prizes in a series of dinner parties.

Each contestant must host their rival and cook them a three-course dinner.

At the end of the night, guests will be scored not only on each dish but also on the quality of food presentation and entertainment provided.

The highest score possible is 40 points, but no episode has ever received a perfect score in any of the seasons aired so far.

The chef who gets the highest score in the series will win £1,000.

Anyone over the age of 18 and legally resident in the UK can apply to star in the series.

However, if Channel 4 finds out that an applicant is training as a professional chef, they could be disqualified.

Previously, former contestants have spoken out about what it’s like filming behind the scenes of the reality TV show.

Speaking to The Sun about her kitchen nightmare, Paula Woolven admitted: “I’m not renowned for my cooking skills but I never expected to screw up so badly on the day I was hosting.”

The iconic Channel 4 competition series returns to our screens in just one week, with a new crop of hopefuls battling it out for victory.

“I rubbed my eyes after cutting chilli peppers, stuck my head in a washtub, cut up a vegan burger with a knife I’d just used to cut beef and burned vegetables in the oven.”
