Presenter Holly, 43, is said to be keen to reach a settlement after returning from filming new Netflix show Bear Hunt in Costa Rica.

According to sources Closer“Holly has real sympathy for Ruth right now and although the divorce seems to have been her choice she knows she will feel the repercussions.

“Due to past tensions between Eamon and Phil, they were not that close, [Schofield] They have always had a lot of respect for each other. They understand the pressures of this job and have always worked well together.”

“She now wants to speak out and when she returns from filming she hopes to meet up with Ruth, have a nice lunch together and show them there is no hard feelings between them.”

The Sun has contacted Holly’s representatives for comment.

Their relationship is thought to have soured following Eamonn’s scathing comments about Holly on This Morning following Philip’s sacking.

The anchor slammed her after the blonde beauty made an emotional statement about Phil’s cheating scandal.

Ms Schofield was sacked by ITV last year after admitting to having an affair with a much younger male colleague.

While Eamonn had no words for the emotional Holly, he did have plenty to say about co-star Josie Gibson.

Fast forward 12 months and today we told how Ruth and Eamonn, both 64, split up after she discovered messages between him and another woman on his laptop.

Her shocking discovery six weeks ago led to it being announced that they were ending their 14-year marriage.

It was also revealed that Eamonn has become close friends with a blonde divorced woman in her 40s who works as a relationship counsellor.

The Belfast-born news anchor went out with her and showered her with gifts.

The message, which Loose Women presenter Ruth, 64, came across by chance, appears to have been from the same woman.

Meanwhile, a photograph has surfaced that appears to have been taken at the safari park in February and shows Eamonn through the back window of a car.

A source said: “Ruth was completely surprised when she saw the message.

“She had no idea what was going on between them. She was devastated.”

“Not only was she very upset, she was angry.”

Eamonn has moved out of the couple’s home in Surrey.

Meanwhile, Ruth is taking an extended break from ITV’s Loose Women as she struggles to cope with the breakdown of her marriage.

Over the past year, Eamonn has treated the ladies to a Beyonce concert, a visit to Center Parcs and tickets to see his beloved Manchester United play at Old Trafford.

Ruth and Eamonn’s relationship timeline

Before their shock split announcement, Ruth and Eamonn seemed like one of the strongest couples on British TV, despite their characteristic bickering style.

Their romance unfolded thus…

1997 – The pair first met through a mutual friend two years after Eamonn split from his first wife Gabrielle, with whom he has three children.

1997-2002 – Out of respect for Gabriel, the couple kept their relationship private. Ruth said: Daily Mail“I thought that said a lot about the kind of person he was, the kind of father he was and the integrity he had. My love for him just grew stronger, not weaker.”

2002 – Ruth and Eamonn welcomed their son Jack into their family.

Year 2005 – Eamonn finalizes his divorce from Gabrielle.

2006 – The pair will begin hosting Friday episodes of This Morning together.

2010 – Eamon proposes to Ruth after proposing to her mother at Cheltenham Racecourse.

June 2010 – Eamonn and Ruth are married at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire.

2016 – Eamonn undergoes double hip replacement surgery, the first of many health battles.

June 2019 – Speaking on This Morning, Ruth and Eamonn shared the secrets to their happy marriage, with Eamonn saying it’s “compromise, consideration and unity”, and Ruth saying it’s “laughter and equality in a marriage”.

November 2020 – Ruth and Eamonn’s usual Friday slot will be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in a “major change to the show”.

December 2021 – After being moved into the Bank Holiday presenting slot for a year, Eamonn and Ruth have both left This Morning.

January 2022 – Eamonn made his debut on GB News, while Ruth stayed with ITV, taking on the role on Loose Women for many years.

September 2022 – Eamonn undergoes spinal surgery after suffering from years of back pain, including a pinched sciatic nerve.

November 2022 – Eamonn fell down the stairs at his home in Surrey with Ruth and broke his shoulder, requiring another operation.

September 2023 – As part of his year-long recovery, Eamonn underwent spinal and neck stretching surgery.

May 2024 – Ruth and Eamonn announced their separation after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.

They became friends after she commented on one of his social media posts and quickly became close.

Eamonn also supported charities connected to his counselling work and helped host free fundraising events.

“She works for a charity that Eamonn is involved with from time to time,” a source close to the Northern Ireland star said last week.

Eamonn and Ruth announced their separation and divorce on May 25, The Sun on Sunday exclusively reported.

Ruth confessed that there was “no way back” in their marriage.

Breakdown of marriage

The rift became apparent after the pair, who have 22-year-old son Jack, had not been photographed together for nearly two years.

GB News presenter Eamon’s health issues, including severe back problems, have reportedly put a strain on their relationship.

But Ruth’s friends say she is “upset” that this is the reason they split.

Eamonn was lavish in praise of the “fantastic” support he received from his wife after he fell down the stairs at their home in November 2022.

Then last month, she came to visit her husband when he was hospitalized for a different illness.

Earlier this year, Eamonn detailed his ongoing “pervasive pain” which has forced him to rely on a walking stick and wheelchair.

And the “harsh reality,” he said, is that he may never be able to walk unassisted again.

Last year, he was unable to attend his mother Josie’s funeral due to health reasons.

Speaking about his ordeal, he said, “It feels like someone in heaven is playing with my life.”

“I had back surgery last year, but it didn’t go well and I’m in a wheelchair now. I fell and broke my shoulder. Honestly, it’s just not something I can recover from.”

In 2018, Eamonn suffered from shingles, a viral infection that causes a painful rash.

He attributed this to a tense tax dispute he had with HM Revenue and Customs while presenting This Morning over whether he was classed as staff or a freelancer.

Ruth spoke publicly about the split for the first time on Thursday during a live broadcast on shopping channel QVC, where she thanked fans for their messages of support.

Before news of their separation broke, Ruth confessed on the Loose Women talk show last month that she wouldn’t be too bothered if her husband cheated on her with a 25-year-old woman.

She said: “The worst thing is he’ll go out with someone his own age. That’s my biggest fear.”

Eamonn and Ruth co-hosted ITV’s flagship show This Morning until 2021.

He currently presents GB News alongside Isabel Webster.
