The Nigeria international is entering the final six months of his contract with the Turin-based club.
Turin coach Ivan Juric has ruled out injured Nigerian defender Ola Aina from the club’s first match of the new year.
Il Toro will host Hellas Verona in matchday 16 of the 2022/23 season at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Wednesday 4 January.
Despite what would have been his 11th appearance of the season, the former Chelsea star has been without treatment since October.
Aina has not played for Turin since his Man of the Match performance and goal in Udinese’s 2–1 defeat on 23 October.
The 27-year-old full-back suffered a hamstring injury and was expected to be out until the end of December.
However, several reports from Italy in the final days of last year suggested Aina would miss the first few games of 2023 in Turin.
And club boss Ivan Juric has admitted that Aina’s injury is so bad that she is no closer to making a comeback.
“Ola Aina still needs time. It’s a bad injury,” the Italian tactician said of his Conference before Verona game.
Ninth-placed Torino have taken all three points and are the favorites to win at home to Verona, who are stuck at the bottom of Italian Serie A.
