Coachella is in full swing, with everyone from Doja Cat to Blur gracing the stage, but one particular act was highly anticipated: No Doubt.

For the first time in nearly a decade, Gwen Stefani reunited with bandmates Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young for a set list filled with incredible nostalgia.

Fans went wild when the reunion was first confirmed, and the It’s My Life hitmakers didn’t disappoint on opening weekend in Indigo, California.

No Doubt’s stunning comeback was elevated to ‘iconic’ status as the always stunning Gwen, 54, brought out pop star Olivia Rodrigo on stage.

The 21-year-old showed off her rock edge as she sang along to Bathwater with the legendary Sweet Escape.

Olivia was touring in support of her album Guts and four days earlier had performed in New York, where she was punched in the head by an enthusiastic fan.

“Hey, Olivia,” the Rich Girl icon said after the song’s instrumental break. “Why do girls like me and you?”

“Do you always want bad guys?” Gwen agreed to use “Dummy” before returning to the song, finishing off the brutal hitmaker.

As Olivia ran around the stage wearing an “I love ND” top, she thrilled the music legend and the crowd went wild.

The Coachella crowd was eagerly awaiting the surprise guest, and social media was flooded with praise for the unlikely duo.

“Olivia Rodrigo’s performance of Bathwater is definitely iconic,” stan account Riviesinker tweeted on X.

An old video of the Disney alum naming her favorite songs has resurfaced, in which she mentions No Doubt’s Bathwater and says, “I love this song so much.”

“I love Gwen Stefani more than anything. I think she’s such a great songwriter,” she continued in the clip.

Fan Shelby Jo wrote, “Olivia Rodrigo just performed ‘Bathwater With No Doubt’ at Coachella 🥹, a full circle moment.”

“Well, this is what it’s all about. It’s impossible to imagine an iconic lead singer like Gwen Stefani literally standing on stage like a rock star,” Nordris shared.

Azzaid added: “A great collaboration, the combination of No Doubt’s iconic sound and Olivia Rodrigo’s contemporary style will definitely make for an unforgettable performance.”

No Doubt climbed the charts in the ’90s with a string of rock and pop hits, including “Don’t Speak” and “I’m Just a Girl,” but Gwen quit in 2004 to go solo. Disbanded.

They reunited four years later, but broke up again in 2015, and have remained fairly quiet in terms of musical activities since then.

Olivia began her career in the same year, and after finding fame in the television spin-off of High School Musical, she has now shed her Disney image.

She has released two incredibly successful albums, ‘Sour’ and ‘Guts’, and will be touring the UK later this year.

The Coachella crowd was treated to a variety of surprise guests, including Tyler, the Creator, who brought out the legendary Childish Gambino, also known as Donald Glover.

But elsewhere, gigs didn’t go as smoothly as expected, with Lana Del Rey experiencing sound problems and Grimes ending his career. A scream of frustration.

Grimes attempted to restart the song several times, but the tempo was incorrect and he was unable to mix it properly, leading fans to call it “the worst set ever.”

Coachella is held over two weekends, with artists performing at the Empire Polo Club in the Coachella Valley this weekend and next.

It’s thought No Doubt will perform again next weekend in Saturday’s penultimate slot, so it remains to be seen if Olivia will return or if fans will see another special guest. I don’t know either.
