Stocks reportedly confronted the brother of the alleged rape victim and pushed him off a cliff in Brighton onto the concrete path below.

Jurors heard how witnesses were frightened when they heard a “screeching sound” before seeing a “small shape” fall to the ground.

The boy survived the fall, but was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Prosecutor Zoe Johnson KC said: “While it was initially believed that what happened to him was a horrific accident, the investigation revealed a different, darker picture.”

Oxford Crown Court heard that Stocks secretly took the boy to Brighton and was considering throwing him in a quarry.

Johnson said she intentionally pushed him off a cliff with the intention of killing him.

He added: “Although the defendant may have instantly regretted what he had done, the moment he pushed the victim was the culmination of a plan to get rid of the boy so he could no longer interfere.”

of horror The incident happened on September 24, when the pair were traveling by train from London to the seaside town.

Stock, who has been married twice, first took the boy to the pier and then took a taxi to the marina.

Witness Anthony Balding said the boy “appeared to be having fun” as he walked with Stocks along the grassy verge to the cliff top.

But about 10 minutes later, he heard a noise and then saw something “fall as if it had been thrown” from a height.

He and a friend headed to the concrete path below the cliff and saw a devastated young man.

Jurors heard Stock did not run away but instead joined members of the public who rushed to help.

One onlooker recalled hearing Stocks allegedly say, “I told you to stay away from the edge” before sitting down and rolling a cigarette.

The boy was sedated and airlifted to a London hospital, where he required resuscitation before falling into a coma.

The boy had no recollection of the fall as he suffered “extreme impact trauma”, the court heard.

The prosecutor added: “The child described seeing the top of the cliff and the coast below. He remembered looking down and remembering how steep it was.”

“I think he stood there for about three to five minutes and he remembered there were two fence wires in front of him. He could touch the wires and the wires were at waist height. The defendant was walking with him and was standing slightly behind him.

“He told police, ‘Either I slipped or I got pushed.’ Next What he remembered was being in the hospital. ”

Stock was initially arrested on charges of child neglect and leaving or leaving a child with serious injury.

He was subsequently rearrested on suspicion of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 and rape of a child under the age of 13.

At the beginning of Stocks’ police interrogation, his lawyer stated, “I am not sexually attracted to children and have never attempted or instigated sexual activity with a child.” I read out the completed statement.
