Michelle Heaton has revealed she wants her kids to be proud of Dancing on Ice after battling alcohol and drug addiction.

The former Liberty X star, 43, who recently celebrated 20 months of sobriety, shares daughter Faith, 10, and son AJ, 8, with husband Hugh Hanley.

And just a week before her debut on the ITV reality show, she said:

“When I called my husband and told him I got it, he was very happy – he is my biggest supporter. I cried!

“Faith said she thought it was bad news when I was crying, so I told her I understood it.

“My kids are my biggest supporters. They’re there every week, so you’ll have to tear them down!

Last month, Michelle shared some candid remembrance photos of herself in the hospital during her battle with addiction to raise awareness and help others.

After sharing several heartbreaking snaps showing herself with a scarred face after “breaking down with an active addiction,” the singer asked her followers to reach out to those who may be suffering. I urge you to help me turn my life around.

“Two years ago, this was me… I was hospitalized, but not for the first time or last time. I was collapsing with active addiction,” her post began.

“I was discharged the next day, walked over to an unlicensed area, and bought more vodka.

“Looks crazy? Yes! But that was the only way I knew how to live. So I thought.

“I swore to my peers, family and doctors that I was recovering. I mean it. But my addicted mind had other plans.

Michelle then encouraged her followers to reach out to others who may be suffering.

“The new year is a time for all of us to set goals and make resolutions. Why not make it a goal to reach out to someone like me?” she said.
