‘Miracle’: Harry Redknapp makes PL title and CL claims for Arsenal and Newcastle United

Harry Redknapp says it would be a ‘miracle’ if Arsenal can win the Premier League title this season and Newcastle United secure Champions League football. As he told talkSPORT Thursday morning.

Mikel Arteta’s team sits at the top of the Premier League standings with an eight-point lead over Manchester City. Meanwhile, the Eddie Howe-led Magpies sit in his third spot alongside teams like Manchester United and Tottenham.

Both Arsenal and Newcastle scored goalless draws at the Emirates on Tuesday night. Perhaps the Gunners were more disappointed with the result as they dropped a point at home for the first time this season.

In any case, the North London players’ goal was to secure Champions League football this season, but they are ahead of their current plans in terms of aiming for the title.

After just 12 months of Saudi-led ownership on behalf of Mike Ashley, the Toon Army loyalists are in dreamland.

Nonetheless, while some claimed it would be a ‘miracle’ for Tottenham to finish in the top four, Redknapp disagrees and wonders what the actual ‘miracle’ is this season.

“I heard someone say, ‘It’s a miracle if he (Conte) is in the top four,'” Redknapp said. “No, it would be a miracle if Newcastle were in the top four. It’s great that he did Eddie Howe there.

“It would be a miracle if Arsenal won the league from where they were last year and didn’t sign anyone. .”

January transfer window

In the recent transfer market, both Arsenal and Newcastle have done very well by signing players who have improved their teams, such as Brazilian duo Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Guimaraes.

However, it will be interesting to see how the two approach the current transfer market.

Both are ahead of plan, so will they push the boat out now for the big pot of gold that could be waiting for them at the end of the season?

Or do you keep your cool and carry on with what works? Either way, what happens this month will determine what we produce in the second half of the season.
