Joey King looked effortlessly stylish as she arrived at the 2024 SAG Awards ceremony on Saturday.

After a taxing 118-day strike, the Screen Actors Guild is honoring the best performers in film and television at its 30th annual ceremony, which is being held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The event turned out to be a reunion for some of the cast of Netflix’s popular Kissing Booth films, as Joey posed on the red carpet with her former costar Taylor Zakhar-Perez, who appeared in the second and third films in the trilogy.

The 24-year-old actress — who was nominated by SAG in 2020 for her true crime miniseries The Act — had all eyes on her as she arrived on the red carpet in an elegant black-and-beige floral dress.

She  was covered up by the silky item’s long skirt, which reached down to her knees.

The lustrous semi-sheer fabric was decorated with delicate designs of pale blue orchids.

Joey paired the skirt with a black satin sash tied around her chest. She complemented it with her sheer black gloves, which reached to her upper arms.

She elevated her 5ft4in stature with a pair of sheer pointy-toed beige heels that strapped around her ankles, and she wore a gorgeous gold necklace decorated with green and gray–blue stones.

Joey wore her dirty blond hair straight and let it drape over her shoulders, while she had a stretch air band threaded through her locks.

She wasn’t competing this year, but she was previously nominated for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries for playing Gypsy Rose Blanchard in The Act.

Gypsy conspired with her then-boyfriend to murder her mother Dee Dee Blanchard, who had abused Gypsy for years. She suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy and led her daughter and her caretakers to believe that she suffered numerous life-threatening ailments, all of of which were made up.

The deception went so far as to force Gypsy to live in a wheelchair for years, and Dee Dee convinced her daughter’s doctors to even remove some of her salivary glands on false pretenses, which led some of Gypsy’s teeth to decay, necessitating their extraction.

After conspiring to kill her mother, she was convicted of second-degree murder. She was released in December of last year after serving eight years behind bars.

Joey’s portrait of the convicted killer and abuse victim earned praise from critics, and her costar Patricia Arquette, who played Dee dee, was also nominated in the same category, though both lost out to Michelle Williams.

Winners for tonight’s show are determined by SAG-AFTRA members, who vote for their favorites across a number of categories.

Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani announced the nominations earlier this year on Instagram Live, with Barbie and Oppenheimer leading the film nominations with four nods each.

Barbie star Margot Robbie and Emma Stone from Poor Things are among the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.

Maestro’s Bradley Cooper and Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy are also among the contenders for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Ryan Gosling, who played Ken in Barbie, is among the contenders for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. He will compete against Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Robert De Niro and Robert Downey Jr. for the honor.

As far as television, the hit HBO Max drama series Succession earned the most nominations with a total of five nods.

Three of their stars are up for the same honor. Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen are among the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.

Sarah Snook is also up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

Succession will be competing for best ensemble in a drama series against The Crown, The Gilded Age, The Last of Us and The Morning Show.

Comedy shows Ted Lasso and The Bear also received four nominations.

All three series are up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Netflix will live stream the ceremony for the first time. Last year’s awards were streamed on Netflix’s YouTube account.

The awards come just months after SAG-AFTRA struck a deal with film studios following a months-long strike in which pay in the streaming era and artificial intelligence were top issues of concern.

The strike began on July 25, 2023, and a tentative deal was struck on November 8. It formally ended on December 5, 2023, with 78 percent of union members voting yes.

Despite disagreements over the final deal, the outcome was a huge relief for union leaders and the entertainment industry following a grueling few months of strikes.

The boycott coincided with the WGA strike, which lasted from May 2 to September 27.
