“I mean, those were the worst few days of my life,” she said. trend recently. “There were days I didn’t know if I would pass or not.

“I called my lawyer and said, ‘I can’t do it. I just can’t do it.’ I wasn’t strong enough to stand up for myself.

“And finally, two weeks after I was in a rut, she reminded me that I was fighting for the kids.

At the time, Sophie was in the UK filming the TV show Joan, while Joe and his two daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 1, were in the US.

“I kept saying to myself, ‘None of this is true. You’re a good mother, but you’ve never been involved.’

In an interview with Vogue, Sophie also admitted that she previously struggled with “depression, anxiety and bulimia.”

“I’m not very good at processing my emotions. If I bottle them up, some form of depression or anxiety comes up years later,” she said.

“Young girls, especially those who grow up in the spotlight, judge themselves very well.”

She revealed that she had taken medication for mental health issues in the past, but not currently.

“It’s been since I moved back to the UK,” she said. “It’s great and it’s surprising, because I expected that we would need to do that, and we probably need to do that now more than ever.”

“There’s something about community and support systems that I never realized was so important.

“And I think the reason I was on medication for so long was because I didn’t have those guys with me.

“Now that I’m home, I’m truly the happiest I’ve been in a while. I’m starting over and rediscovering what I want to do and who I want to be with.”

Joe and Sophie started dating in 2016, and he proposed a year later. They then eloped in Las Vegas in 2019 and had a lavish wedding in France that summer.

Sophie recalled that after her marriage, she struggled with being branded as the wife of the Jonas Brothers.

“There was a lot of attention on the three brothers and their wives. We were always called wives, and I hated that,” she admitted.

“It felt like a plus-one. And it had nothing to do with him – he didn’t make me feel that way – just that our perception was that we were groupies in the band. .”

Things got worse after she moved from Los Angeles to Miami in 2021, and Sophie said she felt like a “bird in a gilded cage”, especially after being completely separated from her friends. Ta.

“We were in this community full of 50-year-old men, so imagine trying to make friends while walking your dog,” she said, washing dishes.

In the end, Sophie said her close friends, including pop sensation Taylor Swift, helped her get through a difficult time after her highly publicized split from Joe.

“The support I received from the women in my life at that time was the most amazing thing. I felt so embraced and protected,” she exclaimed.

“Taylor has been an absolute hero to me this year. She took me and the kids and provided us with a home and a safe place and I have never been more grateful to her. . She really has a heart of gold.”
