Five years later, Steve Harvey no longer hosts Miss Universe. But during his reign, he definitely had some wild moments on the pageant stage.

The Miss Universe Organization launched a five-year deal with Harvey and Fox after selling the company to IMG in 2015 after Donald Trump made controversial statements during his first presidential campaign .

Harvey turned heads for many of his moments on the Miss Universe stage. This includes his one major misstep that made the world talk. However, after his contract ended this year, the Miss Universe organization decided to go in a new direction with Ann Jacapong Jakrajutatip. Anne Jacapon Jakrajutatip is the first woman to own Miss Universe.

In 2015, Harvey announced that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, had won the title of Miss Universe.

A sparkling crown was placed on her head and the famous Miss Universe sash draped over her shoulders. The real winner was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Urzbach.

Harvey showed the spectator his cards and said he was responsible for the mistake.

The “Family Feud” host later apologized for the error on Twitter, and even Harry Styles came to his defense. Harvey later told Kevin Hart. 2021 interview It was “the worst week of my life.”

Harvey found himself trending again on Twitter when he made a cartel joke while talking to Miss Colombia Gabriela Tafur Náder.

The contest queen joked about Harvey’s 2015 mistake after revealing she was in the top 20.

After Harvey showed her the card as proof, Nader told the organizers that Columbia had forgiven him of his mistake.

“The cartels have not forgiven me,” he replied.

The joke was not well received by many viewers, including Colombian actor Andrés Simon, who said Harvey’s joke was “ignorant” and “downright disrespectful”.

At the 2019 pageant, Harvey once again seemed to upset two contestants.

As wrap Harvey has reportedly announced that Miss Philippines Ghajini Ganados has won the 2019 Miss Universe costume competition.

Ganados had actually won the contest, but for some reason Miss Malaysia Shweta Sekhon was standing next to Harvey on stage.

“It’s not the Philippines, it’s Malaysia,” Sekong said after Harvey named Miss Philippines the winner, according to The Wrap.

“Well, let me explain. I read it on the teleprompter,” Harvey said. “You should stop doing this to me.”

“This is what they did to me in 2015. They played me that way easily,” he said.

Miss Universe later revealed that Harvey was right in naming Ganados the winner. Tweetbut the interaction painfully reminded him of his 2015 accident.

And at the 2021 pageant, Harvey once again mixed up the two contestants.

During the pageant, Harvey announced that Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira and Miss India Harunaz Sandu were the finalists.

Herbie congratulated the pair, but he mistakenly called Ferreira Miss Portugal. Yahoo!news Indicated.

After Harvey’s out-of-place congratulations, Ferreira grinned awkwardly.

Harvey hosted the 2021 pageant with his daughter, Lori Harvey.

At the 70th Annual Miss Universe Pageant, Lori Harvey joined her father on the Miss Universe stage.

Rather than being on good terms, the two seemed more strained on stage.Herbie even hinted that it was because of him that his daughter was there.

“Oh my god, she owes me this,” he said after chatting with Lori during the show.

Harvey also made headlines when he asked Miss India to meow on stage at the 2021 pageant.

Many viewers were perplexed when Harvey asked Miss India Harunaz Sandu (who was later named Miss Universe) to do the best animal impersonation on stage.

“Oh my god, Steve, I never thought I’d do this on the world stage,” Sandhu told him. But the pageant queen takes it all in stride, she said she loves cats and will do her best to impersonate them.

Many viewers on Twitter denounced Harvey’s question, asking why Sandu gave them the chance to talk more about themselves when other women participating in the contest got to talk about their careers and philanthropy. I asked if it was possible.

However, Sandhu defended Harvey when he spoke to Insider about the moment.

“We had so much fun. Making people laugh was my ultimate goal,” she said. “And having someone as amazing as Steve next to you makes it impossible to stop being yourself. And I was just having fun and having fun.”
